Microsoft Unveils Copilot Pro Featuring Custom GPTs and Office Integration

Microsoft, one of the leading software development companies in the United States, has launched a pro version of its Copilot, an artificial intelligence tool powered by ChatGPT.

The company initially introduced Microsoft’s 365 Copilot AI assistant for selected customers in November last year. Now, the company has expanded its capabilities with the launch of Copilot Pro, designed to cater to both businesses and individuals.

Users Can Access Copilot Pro for $20 Monthly Subscriptions

According to a blog post dated January 15, 2024, the Copilot Pro is a premium subscription for users looking for accelerated performance and creativity capabilities to supercharge their Copilot experience.

For a $20 monthly subscription, users can access the AI-powered features within Office apps like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote on PC, Mac, and iPad. The Copilot Pro subscription also includes enhanced image creation services.

Subscribed users can also gain priority access to ChatGPT’s latest models, including GPT-4 Turbo, for faster performance during peak times. Microsoft plans to expand this capability to include the ability to toggle between models in the future.

Additionally, Copilot Pro empowers users to build their customized CopilotGPT using the upcoming CopilotGPT Builders without requiring any coding experience. This tool allows the personalization of Microsoft Copilot on various topics, starting with fitness, travel, and cooking.

Microsoft Expands Access to Copilot

The company also announced other updates in addition to the Copilot Pro. The company said it has expanded Copilot for Microsoft 365 to a broader customer base, making it accessible to small businesses using Microsoft 365 Business Premium and Business Standard. Interested users can acquire between one and 299 seats at $30 per person per month.

Additionally, Microsoft has removed the previous 300-seat purchase minimum for commercial plans. Copilot is now open to Office 365 E3 and E5 customers without needing a Microsoft 365 license.

The company said commercial customers can conveniently procure Copilot for Microsoft 365 through Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider partners.

In December 2023, the firm extended eligibility for Copilot for Microsoft 365 to educate faculty and staff, broadening the scope of users benefiting from this collaborative tool.

Microsoft Rolls Out Copilot Mobile App

Apart from extending Microsoft Copilot to small businesses, the company launched the Copilot mobile app.

The product is available for Android and iOS users and has the same capabilities as the PC version, including access to GPT-4 and Dall-E 3 for image creation.

The company has also added support for Copilot in the Microsoft 365 mobile app for Android and Apple phones with a Microsoft account. These new features are scheduled for official release next month.

Microsoft said it aims to make Copilot available for everyone, irrespective of their needs.
